Entrance is via marble steps at either side above a large arched doorway on the ground floor. At the point where both flights of steps meet is a covered veranda, known as "bodzos". A large wooden door set into roughly hewn marble surround, opens to a very big lounge. This room has two windows overlooking the front garden.

Floors are of wood and the ceilings are heavily beamed and painted in a soft shade of apple green, which compliments the dark wood furniture, windows and doors. An elegant fireplace dominates one wall with doors on either side leading into two of the bedrooms. These rooms are adjoining via a tiny wooden door, as are the other two bedrooms situated on the opposite side of the room.

 

At the far end is another door, opening to a hallway which gives access to the sitting room, a winding marble staircase leads to the ground floor storerooms, double doors open to a shallow wooden staircase to the living room and kitchen. In the living room is a brick fireplace. Floors are terracotta tiled, the ceiling is vaulted and beamed and within the kitchen area is another more traditional fireplace with wall built-in oven. This too, has been beautifully maintained and is in perfect working condition.

 

Three sets of shallow stairs lead to different parts of the house. A rear door opens to a large outdoor dining veranda and the lawned garden. This room has character and charm, being bright and airy in summer, warm and cosy in winter.

 

The gardens, of approximately 2,000 sq.m are mostly laid to lawn, with roses, olives, fruit trees and vines throughout. The building is set on a small hill above a quiet country road. Views are to the surrounding mountains and countryside. There is a partial sea view but it is blocked by neighboring trees.

 

The ground floor storerooms are in very good condition and could easily be converted into a self-contained living area to cater for guests or to provide an income during summer months.

The price includes most of the furniture and fittings.
