Entrance to the house is across a paved veranda which extends around one side of the house. This provides a private parking space behind iron gates. The large living room has a nicely tiled floor and a wooden ceiling with a central pillar. Leading off this room are the bathroom and kitchen-dining room. The same floor tiles are used throughout. The kitchen opens to an outdoor dining area and large garden where fruit trees and grape vines grow in abundance. At the far end of the garden are two outbuildings, currently used as a log-store and outdoor WC-shower room. A handcrafted wooden staircase leads from the living room to the first floor and the two double bedrooms. The hall landing is spacious and easily provides additional sleeping. From the landing a door opens on to a large balcony. The views from here stretch down a valley of olive groves and indigenous forest, across the rooftops of the old villages, all the way to the open sea and mainland mountain ranges beyond. Both bedrooms benefit from patio doors, opening to the balcony. |
